What portion is a member responsible for before sharing occurs?

Member Responsibility Amount (MRA) is the dollar amount that a member must pay during each membership year before ASH will share in eligible dental needs. The individual MRA per person per membership year is $50. The family MRA per membership year is $150 maximum. After the member pays their annual MRA, then ASH will share up to the annual maximum sharing limit as long as all other Guidelines are met.

What is the annual maximum sharing amount?

The annual maximum sharing limit per person per membership year is $1,500 (excluding Class 1 services & Orthodontics). An annual maximum sharing amount is the maximum dollar amount ASH will share toward the cost of eligible dental needs in a membership year.

Are there waiting periods for dental services?

No. There are no waiting periods for any of the dental sharing services. Members have immediate access to Class 1, Class 2, and Class 3 Services as well as Orthodontics.

However, the SHARE Dental program shares in services based on a graduated scale where sharing percentages increase over a period of three years. The maximum sharing percentages are highest in year 3 and beyond, so it is to the member’s advantage to seek regular consistent care and maintain their membership over at least the three-year time period.

Are orthodontic services eligible for sharing?

Yes. Orthodontic services are eligible for sharing for dependent children through age 19 only. The lifetime maximum sharing amount for orthodontics is $1,500 per dependent.

Where can I find details regarding shareable dental services
and exclusions for the program?

Members will receive a “Welcome” email from ASH which contains registration instructions for our secure, online member portal,  www.healthsharejoin.com/members . On the Member Portal, members can manage their account and access their sharing information, including
Member Guidelines. Members should read through all of their materials carefully, and contact Customer Service if they have any questions.
